I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and a certified EMDR therapist. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety and panic disorder in individuals, and I offer relational counseling to couples. I draw from the perspectives of attachment and family systems theories, which means I attend to the family of origin of each client and their relationships with primary caregivers. I believe that our expectations of the world and others in it are significantly impacted by our early-life experiences, and frequently observe how interactional patterns come down the generational line and play out in our adult relationships. My most typical form of treatment is EMDR - an extremely effective process for treating trauma, shame and anxiety (see my website for a detailed explanation). I also integrate the work of Pia Mellody (www.piamellody.com) and Terry Real (www.terryreal.com) into both my individual and couples therapy. I am originally from London, England and came to the US in 2002. Therapy is my second career following 17 years in business.
