I"ve been doing therapy for over 30 years. Sometimes I help people with everyday issues, such as depression, low self-esteem, and unsatisfying relationships. I have also dealt with more unusual problems, like dissociation. . . . I am familiar with different therapeutic orientations and I try to find the approach which will work best for each person. (Unlike many therapists, I don't do "one style fits all" therapy.) I integrate psychoanalytic/self-psychology/family systems theories with existential and spiritual concerns. My goal is to help my clients to become aware of and change negative patterns that interfere with happiness, spontaneity, freedom of choice, and fulfilling relationships. Another technique I employ is EMDR. This works particularly well for resolving trauma. . . . Improvements are often obtained in brief therapy, although I also do longer-term therapy for characterological and deeper change.
