I welcome clients into a supportive, confidential, and safe environment, as I understand how difficult it can be to to take the first step toward treatment. I recovered from an eating disorder over twenty years ago, and have experienced the treatment process myself. My treatment style is very individualized and client centered. I use Cognitive -Behavioral techniques along with a Relational Therapy approach. Mental health issues often become medical issues, so when necessary, I work closely with physicians and dietitians in Bloomington. I have been specializing in the treatment of eating disorders since 1995. Although I specialize in eating issues, this also includes all areas of therapy, as the eating problem/behavior is the coping mechanism for the underlying issues. For example, I see many clients who have depression, anxiety, ADD, OCD, and Bipolar disorder, all of which can be coupled with eating issues. I am a member of The Academy for Eating Disorders, National Eating Disorders Organization, The National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, The Eating Disorders Task Force of Indiana, and the Indiana University Eating Disorders Task Force (COPE).
