My background as an RN and teacher enrich my understanding of my client's needs. Listening to each person's experience and struggles with my ability to clarify what I hear, enables my clients to discover strengths and direction they need to overcome obstacle in their lives. Living in the "now", being assertive, understanding our egos are not our friends and how to tame it, are parts of the work my clients engage in to feel more positive. Some clients need to be heard by a non judgmental listener to help them sort out their difficulty. Everyone has issues. Wise people choose to work confidentially to make improvements based on sound options. When people are emotionally heavy, their rational & logical thoughts are harder to use. Counseling calms the emotions & encourages healthy choices. Understanding the relationship between physical health issues and mental is part of the work.
