Alana J. Brunner
Counselor, MA, LCPC, NCC
Boise, Idaho 83702

My work has encompassed a diverse group of clientele from the young to the elders in our community, and the chronically mentally ill to those struggling with situational depression and anxiety. In my practice a variety of issues are addressed, such as: self-esteem, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, anger management, communication, boundary work, etc. I have specialized experience working in inpatient settings and have a solid understanding of when a client may need a higher level of care. As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist I believe thoughts impact feelings and behaviors. Together we will identify your values and automatic thoughts and address how they may be interfering in your daily life. Addressing thoughts can allow for positive changes in behavior; inherently causing changes in the way we feel. I utilize several techniques, including but not limited to: relaxation, assertiveness training, bibliotherapy, social-skills training, role playing, and creative/expressive arts. I am grounded in my theoretical approach and have solid clinical experience with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Contact me for a consultation today!
