How do we sort out problems of living? How do we formulate who we are and who we want to become? How do we develop loving satisfying relationships? How much are these questions of the mind and to what extent are they about the biology of our brains? As a psychiatrist, these are the questions that have shaped my clinical practice for over 25 years. In my practice I provide diagnostic evaluations and consultations, short-term, and intensive long-term psychodynamic treatments for a range of specific concerns including: trauma and dissociative disorders, sexual and gender identity issues, personality disorders, and depression. I provide an integrated relational/dynamic treatment with the thoughtful use of medications. In addition, as a board certified forensic psychiatrist, I provide consultation to attorneys and their clients for situations in which psychiatric problems and the legal system meet. These include concerns around psychological injury following overwhelming life events, psychiatric disability, and workplace issues.
