I have been a therapist in Maine for 20 years, initially at the Master's level, and completed my PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2012. During that time I have worked with people from all walks of life - people of diverse ethnicities, orientations, and beliefs. I have worked at inpatient and outpatient programs, and my own private practice; with people who are having difficulty adjusting to changing life circumstances, and with people with severe and persistent mental illness. This has confirmed my belief that, while our differences should be celebrated, human beings can always find connection, and those connections can be the basis for healing. Contrary to popular belief, asking for help is not a sign of weakness. It takes courage to open up and be vulnerable, to ask for help, to try to change one's life. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them become the people they always wished they could be. I have extensive experience working with trauma issues and substance abuse, as well as anxiety, depression, and marital, divorce, and grief issues. I hold degrees in Substance Abuse and Clinical Counseling, Psychology, and a Certificate in Neuropsychology, as well. I am currently accepting new clients, and would welcome your call.
