Are you burdened, troubled or afraid due to past tragedy, hurt or illness - or are you in the middle of a tragedy, conflict or loss? Do you have a physical illness, especially a Heart Problem, with related stress? We start with a comprehensive evaluation. Then we examine your strengths and the resources you have used when life gets troublesome. My job is to know and understand you well enough to really help. We also review your "mindfulness" skills - how you manage life, relax, accept things, and other "now" coping skills. Then we will proceed with a plan for therapy just designed for you. After 20 years of community services,including work on chemical dependency and psychiatric units, Paul opened office practice of psychotherapy in 1995. A cognitive-behavioral therapist, Paul also trained in "brief, client-centered therapy", marital therapy, and the Behavioral Therapy Institute. Most recent training has focused on Integrative Medicine and Heart Health. Paul has hours near Westport on Mondays and Wednesdays, afternoon and evening; Tuesday afternoon in Maplewood.
