I work best with clients who are willing to risk making some changes in their lives in order for their present and future to be better than their pasts. Relationship issues, marriage and divorce, nagging personality problems, crises of faith and spirituality, trouble dealing with physical disease and disability, loss and complicated grief, and PTSD are examples of clients' life challenges I have worked with. Healing hurts of the past best describes my primary focus. Healing, forgiveness, growth, integration and fulfillment are all important words and concepts to me. As a pastoral counselor, I can assist persons of faith to make better use of their spiritual resources while helping non-churched individuals accomplish their own goals. Having dealt with mild cerebral palsy from birth, I can relate to many types of life challenges. Having experienced a first marriage with children, six years of divorce and several decades of a fulfilling second marriage, I have a variety of reflected-upon experiences to "speak from but not of."
