Parents - are you frightened by your teenager's dramatic weight loss, restrictive eating, bingeing, or purging? Are you concerned about her depression, self-injury, or anxiety? Are you eager to help your child, but unsure of how to proceed? You are your child's greatest resource in recovery. I will involve you in each stage of your child's treatment. I will empower you to help your child by educating you about her diagnosis and providing you with tools to help her at home. For children, adolescents, and young adults with eating disorders, I use the Maudsley Model of Family-Based Treatment (FBT), a highly practical, empirically-supported treatment which enlists the entire family as a resource in supporting the patient's recovery. I also work with pre-teens, teens, and college students suffering from anxiety disorders and depression. My individual therapy approach is primarily cognitive-behavioral (CBT), focusing on symptom resolution, skills-building, and relapse prevention.
