As a practicing licensed clinical social worker, I have worked with seriously emotionally disturbed and learning disabled children, adolescents and their families for over twelve years. I specialize in psychosocial/emotional and behavioral problems and utilize both creative interventions and a strengths perspective whenever dealing with clients. I am trained in psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral techniques. I have also received training in action methods and am certified as an animal assisted therapist. Young people are dealing with many pressures including ever evolving technology, intense peer harassment, and the availability of very addictive substances. Unhealthy coping skills, problematic family relationships, addiction, and mental health problems can create and/or further exacerbate difficulties in a young person's life. Frustrated?
