Dr. Helen Friedman, a clinical psychologist, is a compassionate and interactive therapist with 10 years additional training after her Ph.D. and 35 years in practice. She works with anxiety, stress, depression, grief, divorce, relationships, sexual and work issues. Specialty areas are child sexual abuse (children and adults), sexual compulsivity, dissociative identity disorder, and gender identity issues. Trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities (family systems, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, gestalt, etc.), she tailors her approach to the individual, couple, or family. Dr. Friedman has presented on mental health topics at national and international conferences and in the national media. She hosted an award-winning radio show, "PsychTalk," on KDHX-FM and has served on the Advisory Boards of "CosmoGIRL!" (a national teen magazine) and the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health (SASH). She was presented the SASH Merit Award by Dr. Patrick Carnes in San Francisco, CA. Media chair and a former president of the St. Louis Psychological Association, she is featured in the book, "The Successful Therapist" (Wiley, 2005).
