I specialize in working with individuals who have been diagnosed with an eating disorder, i.e., anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, or eating disorder not otherwise specified. Each year, over 10 million females and one million males are affected by EDs. EDs are caused by many factors, e.g., biological, psychological,and sociological issues. I work to help my client change her/his internalized focus by helping each to develop self-acceptance/self love, competency, confidence, and rational thinking. When one obtains a clearer picture of personal values on which to focus, actualizing recovery is more tangible. I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist & never does ED present as the only problem in therapy. It is accompanied by a range of other mental health disorders, e.g., depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, family conflict, and various personality disorders. I am trained to work in these specialties as well. I believe in creating a rich therapeutic alliance with clients whereby good work may be accomplished. I believe therapy is about change, which helps provide a wellspring of hope, a return of joy, an improved self-view in order to keep moving forward to develop personal growth and realistic potential.
