I am Marguerite "Rita" Hursh, working as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. I especially enjoy working with couples on relationship challenges. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy, I help each person better understand him/herself and his/her partner. Together we strive to reduce arguing and increase moments of teamwork and emotional connectedness. My goal is to help every client regain balance in their lives, such as enjoying favorite activities once again, controlling an angry temper, not acting on a compulsive thought, enjoying a good night's sleep, making peace with the past, making friends, enjoying moments of peace and serenity. When working with couples, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy combined with techniques from Drs. John & Julie Gottman. I reserve Tuesday and Thursday evenings for couples requesting counseling.
