Change is inevitable and necessary for growth. While many cringe at the thought of change, in truth it is the transitions between the points of time that bring such fear, anxiety, turmoil, and conflict. The adult life is a series of transitions from young people facing career and relationship development issues, to mid-lifers rethinking life meaning, to older adults trying to establish new identity and purpose. My goal is to help individuals and couple face these struggles through self-understanding, communication, and effective coping skills. I am here it give voice to the underlying emotions, thoughts, and beliefs that individuals struggle to express. Beginning with an overarching understanding of life meaning and purpose, I believe in treating the whole person, including the relational, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and occupational parts. I focus on insight oriented sessions, utilizing cognitive behavior techniques when appropriate. In addition, I am trained to integrate faith into the counseling, when invited into that arena. I enjoy working with adults of all ages. I am trained to do premarital counseling through the Prepare and Enrich program. In addition, I have a unique passion to work with older adults and have specialized training in this area.
