My therapy philosophy is based on the importance of treating clients with dignity and respect, and of empowering clients. My therapy approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, 12 Step, client-centered, psychoeducation, EMDR, and spiritual resources depending on the needs and desires of the client. I also have extensive cross-cultural experience with Native Americans/Alaskans. I have been certified in chemical dependency since 1988, and have worked in outpatient settings, residential settings, women only treatment, and men only treatment. I am also approved by the State of Alaska, Division of Behavioral Health for providing services to criminal justice clients. I am trained as an EMDR provider, which is very effective for dealing with trauma, PTSD as well as other issues; and I am also an ordained Episcopal priest.
