Therapy is a time of discovering who you truly are and how to live with more freedom, creativity, and enjoyment in relationships. I work hard to create a safe, collaborative environment where we can explore the physical, emotional, and relational issues that cause distress in your life. I will work with you to restore a sense of hope and empowerment in your life. Through our time together, you can learn how to change your unwanted behaviors, manage life's difficult emotions and stresses, and develop a sense of voice and freedom in your relationships. While most of what I practice is talk oriented, I also encourage clients to express themselves in creative ways, such as music, art, writing, or hobbies. I also work extensively with Patrick Carnes' sex addiction material when applicable. I specialize in sexual addiction and am passionate about helping all people develop healthy sexuality. I have studied with Patrick Carnes am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (www.iitap.com). I spent five years teaching academically and practicing in New Zealand and am an international presenter on various sexuality topics.
