I see adults, adolescents and children who are caught up in the maelstrom of a divorce, My primary clients are the couples in high conflict and/or their children in the middle. Conflict is the best predictor of later maladjustment. we can search high and low and not find a more uniquely injurious environment for children. I have focused my practice on helping the parents to shield the children from the harm they do to their children by holding on to their conflict and pulling their child into it. I believe that it is their obligation to know that being stuck in the conflict is unconscionable! I approach this work from an understanding of trust and betrayal: repair is accomplished through having the courage to be honest without being brutally honest and being open to hearing the other's perception of the betrayal. Sharing is followed by an honest, compassionate response and allowing for letting go.
