A relationship of trust is essential to a successful therapeutic experience. Healing and change requires that we move forward together in a spirit of trust, mutual respect, and openness. Our work will begin with an initial assessment period followed by time to consider and discuss your goals. My role is to provide a supportive and encouraging environment, a safe place to reflect on your life and the reasons behind your feelings and actions. I may challenge you at times and help you explore new ideas that will bring about the healing and change you are looking for. For therapy to be effective, the experience needs to fit each individual in a unique way. One of my strengths is being sensitive to each individual client's personality and needs. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities including cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, interpersonal, existential, and humanistic. I have a calm, rational, nonjudgmental, and caring approach and can quickly demonstrate understanding and offer insight. Clients working with me report they feel understood, discover ways to nurture their own healing resources, and gain insights that help bring about positive change, healing, and greater life satisfaction.
