Melissa Sue Rosbottom has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over 14 years. She earned both her bachelors and masters degrees from Stetson University, in Deland, FL. She has extensive clinical experience in a wide variety of areas. Working with couples, and families in a group private practice setting in relation to behavioral problems, school difficulties, truancy, parenting, mental health difficulties, neglect/abuse, and substance abuse difficulties. She also worked with individuals diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illnesses including mood disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, eating disorders, and substance abuse disorders in an intensive outpatient setting. Ms. Rosbottom works from Family Systems theory and Cognitive Behavioral theory, incorporating a number of other approaches. Areas including Couples/Marital Therapy (infidelity, threat of divorce, communication, premarital issues), Family Therapy (including parenting, behavior concerns in children/adolescents, school difficulties, blended families), and Individual Therapy (stress, anxiety, substance dependence, coping skills, self-esteem, personal growth).
