I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have dedicated my life to working with children and families. Due to family work, I am also comfortable working with adults. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in various capacities serving youth and family which included the following positions: youth advocate, teacher, youth employment specialist, Big Brother/Big Sister Coordinator, parent/teen mediator, mentor, coach, youths crew leader and Peace Corps Volunteer. These experiences have provided a wealth of insight into the human condition. They have enriched my life and often inform my work as a therapist. I work with adults children, teens and their caregivers to create relationships and an environment which promotes healthy development and growth for all family members. I work to empower clients to develop healthy life routines as well as to identify external and internal barriers that may impair wellness. I have significant experience working with teens including: building communication skills,self-esteem and self-advocacy as well as providing intensive family work to repair relationships. I have worked with young children and their caregivers educating parents about the importance of play as well as addressing challenging behaviors effectively. I am committed to cultural competency.
