When you make an appointment to see a therapist, many times you have identified things in your life that are presenting challenges. Confronting those challenges is important work and could transform the next chapter in your life. The therapeutic process is one of mutual respect, curiosity, and discovery. I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of creating solutions to present challenges and discovering your strengths, new ways to see the world, and your future path. I have been at this a long time and along the way I have developed a few areas that I consider my "specialties". Including: the experiences of those who identify as LGBTQI, recovering from trauma, child maltreatment, parenting traumatized or seriously mentally ill children, among others. I am trained in Dan Hughes' Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) which is ideal for children with a RAD, ODD, or CD diagnosis and their parents. I am trained in Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT). I have worked, advocated, and published extensively in the experiences of people who identify as LGBTQIA.
