My experience ranges from working an emergency room, to inpatient units, to alcoholism, to outpatient practice. I have eight years of general practice with the US Navy, including PTSD. I know many techniques but put technique on the back burner and to try to talk and listen in such a way that we both understand what is going on. I would rather take a little extra time and understand fully. While my strongest interest has been in trauma, I like working with all people. There is good in everyone, and part of therapy is to not miss that. I have an interest in working with traumatized persons, and I began the first Posttraumatic Stress Disorder group at Jacksonville Naval Hospital, seven years ago. I have dealt with many types of trauma. I also am a trained personal coach, and I have been doing clinical hypnosis for more than 30 years. Being semi-retired, I am able to take my time with people. I am not a skills teacher, but try to help people find themselves and arrive at their own decisions as to how they live their lives.
