My practice offers support and guidance to clients wishing to improve life quality in the areas of relationships, self esteem, personal issues and changing family structures such as divorce, separation and remarriage. Together, a client and I establish goals and develop a plan towards reaching those goals through changing perspectives, actions and developing healthy life choices and balance. This is an individualized process and may include completing activities outside of the appointment meetings such as reading, writing or practicing a new skill. This gives the client and me information so that our meetings are more productive and useful. I can offer specific help for parties experiencing divorce in understanding the challenges of the various emotional, logistical and legal aspects of divorce. I also have significant experience helping divorcing parents who wish to develop parenting plans that meet their children's best interests. My practice includes the Therapy Dogs as a way to better to connect with young clients or those who struggle expressing themselves in counseling. I have found this approach to be very helpful for children and adults who may find learning new life skills more comfortable with a furry friend.
