Who is the "right" therapist for you? Some commonly considered variables are therapist treatment specialties, ability to create and maintain a therapeutic alliance, clinical clarity, and professional and life experience. I utilize behavioral and psychodynamic therapy models and guide clients through examining beliefs, thoughts, feelings and behaviors, and connecting these with their origins. I carefully listen for resistance, work through memories, identify areas of conflict, and provide insights and strategies to reshape relationships or overcome barriers to goal achievement. Successful treatment should help reveal and resolve unconscious and automatic responses, leading to improved satisfaction, personal progress and goal achievement. My specialties and focus includes challenges such as relationship satisfaction, parenting challenges, child opposition, attentional challenges, inconsistent and unfocused behavior, anxiety, depression and sadness, life transitions, mood or anger issues, stress, and trauma. Additionally, I have extensive experience supporting families formed through Adoption and Foster Care. I opened my private practice in June 2009 and have 15+ years of post-Master's experience. I maintain a supportive and client-centered approach with adolescents, adults, couples and families. I provide sessions in a safe, warm, positive and confidential office setting.
