I have experience in addiction, trauma, grief and loss and co-occurring disorders. Having worked in the "helping" field more than 20 yrs., serving local hospice, Hurricane relief programs, and working with children of inmates and various faith-based outreach programs, I possess a passion for assisting clients through bereavement. My love of counseling began early when realizing friends and family drew near to me in times of trouble considering me the "listening ear" they craved. Studies of the bereavement process, life experiences and dedication to counseling has emerged a private practice counseling center providing individual and group counseling. With an MSW (Social Work) from FIU; and current license with the state of Florida Dept. of Health as a Clinical Social Worker Intern #ISW8736; My clinical background is in substance abuse, trauma and crisis intervention with an emphasis on grief and loss. I am now trained in EMDR. I possess an eclectic counseling style, nurturing a variety of theoretical counseling approaches in an effort to best serve my clients individual and unique needs.I hold the notion that creativity woven into any approach allows an individual to speak without words.
