I have a PhD in marriage therapy and over 20 yrs experience working with couples. I have advanced training in EFT. All couples have conflicts. The difference between happy and unhappy couples is whether they have a healthy process of repair. I specialize in helping couples develop that repair process. When many couples argue they end up feeling more frustrated, distant, and dissatisfied in their relationship instead of feeling close and reconnected. Eventually they stop talking because it just turns into a fight. I help couples who are stuck find a way to experience the love and closeness they desire. I work a lot with individuals and couples dealing with problematic sexual behaviors including pornography, physical and emotional affairs, online behaviors, crossing sexual boundaries, one night stands, and problems with their physical intimacy. I have a unique focus in working with men who are often skeptical about therapy. Often men will use work, alcohol, sex, pornography, money, gambling, or other compulsive/addictive behaviors to deal with feelings of emptiness or disconnection. These behaviors can cause serious problems in their marriage. I help couples connect to each other instead of escaping to unhealthy behaviors that drive them further apart.
