Compassionate and straightforward, my career vision and mission are to "make a lasting positive difference" in the way clients approach their life difficulties. As a world traveler and someone who has lived on five continents, I am well versed in diversity and adjustment issues. Fluent in English, Arabic and Spanish, and can manage very well in French if needed. Certified in Critical Incident Stress Management, and hold both State and National certification in my field. Approved as a Continuing Education Credit Provider to my peers, I have conducted workshops and trainings, both in the US and Europe. I am a perpetual student of life and formal education, with several areas of postgraduate training including Family Systems, Hypnosis, Parenting Skills, EMDR levels I & II and others.Areas of specialty include: post Traumatic Stress; sexual abuse; cross-cultural dynamics; acculturative stress; parenting skills; adjustment issues, including workplace conflict resolution. Clients consistently report an ease with which they develop trust and rapport very quickly. I practice and teach principles of non-violent communication, based in non-judgment. My goal in counseling is to help clients uncover, and learn to utilize, their own healing power.
