Making the decision to start therapy and trying to find a therapist can be a bit intimidating! Especially since we tend to seek therapy when we're experiencing difficulties in life. It is important to find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable; one who is supportive and makes a good connection with you during sessions. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is the catalyst to change. With the support of a therapist, you may discover new insights and make changes to reach your goals. I try to balance acceptance and change in therapy, encouraging growth through validation. I work with children, adolescents, and adults in individual, couple, and family sessions in a small private practice. I've been intensively trained in ABA and DBT and incorporate this knowledge into skills work. My passion is helping clients work through trauma. EMDR is one technique used to help clients heal from past hurt. I have my Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary's University, Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Certificate of Completion in EMDR, and Licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
