I have a gentle, caring style and offer a wide variety of techniques to find the unique fit for each person. I help clients identify goals and develop skills that enhance their ability to find healing and hope. I help clients identify the coping skills already in use and increase the positive while discarding the defenses that have "expired" their usefulness. I have many years of experience in treating anxiety, depression, bi-polar, trauma, child and adolescent issues, parenting, and relationship issues. I have very effective programs for working with children of divorce, substance abuse affected families and anger management. I use a combination of cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, relaxation and address "body, mind and spirit" as ways to overcome mood disorders. I use sand tray and play therapy as avenues of healing for children. I also use personality theory to help each person accept their uniqueness and gifts. I have training as a Spiritual Director, a strong 12 step background and work hard to practice what I preach. I have a spiritual practice and am open to all the different ways people express their spirituality. I exercise, do yoga and constantly seek balance in work, family, and play.
