I work with adults, teenagers and preteens. While my approach with preteens is primarily art therapy, I offer additional approaches to adults based in mindfulness such as Somatic Experiencing, Hakomi and EMDR. I am best suited to foster insight, cope with stress, explore options, deal with difficult situations carried over from the past (trauma) as well as day to day problems with relationships, loneliness, family, work, emotional dysregulation, spirituality and creativity. Often my clients are therapists, artists or people who are wanting more freedom to be their authentic selves, and find their path creatively and spiritually. I specialize in addressing effects of difficult experiences on daily life. As a Board Certified Art Therapist and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I offer art expression and/or sensation focus to increase understanding of response patterns. This mindfulness-based approach reveals depth of experience and insight, develops skills to decrease internal distress and handle situations skillfully. Extensive training in Somatic Experiencing, Art Therapy, Hakomi and Spiritual Direction means you can bring your whole self into this relationship, and not parcel it out. I have 27 years of experience with all kinds of people in all kinds of situations, as well as ongoing training, personal exploration and mentorship.
