I am honored to work with people facing relationship struggles manifesting as anxiety, depression, and struggles with intimacy. My experience and training have revealed that most emotional challenges are tied to how we function in our personal relationships. I've been told that my real strength is in helping people feel safe and reflective enough to recognize, think through, and either accept or change the way they operate in the relationships that matter most. Together, we will create a unique plan that meets your needs both efficiently and effectively, while bringing joy back into your life and relationships. The Washington Post has quoted me as a "relationship expert" because I teach couples practical steps to make conversation about relationships feel safe and connected. The aim is to reconnect emotionally, repair the damage, and come away with flexible, transferable skills to address any future problems. One of my tools is EMDR, a short-term treatment that helps process traumatic experiences, often with immediate and lasting results. I also write for the Georgetowner newspaper and Counseling Today magazine, on subjects including dealing with heartbreak, couples facing infertility, counseling LGBT clients, and college life adjustment.
