My areas of expertise include Mind Body Medicine and the psychodynamic treatment of anxiety spectrum disorders, depression, trauma, and issues relating to body image and obesity. I teach and speak extensively on how the physiologic mechanisms of the inflammatory process promotes the above disease states and how, through the utilization of psychoanalytic and mindfulness techniques, optimal change can be achieved. I utilize the combination of psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy and mindfulness heavily supported in the medical literature in my private practice. My faculty participation in the Contemplative Health Project has allowed me to study and participate in meditation and guided imagery internationally. I have authored articles in the medical literature related to my areas of specialty as above. My BodyImagery CD utilizes mindfulness techniques to complement the psychotherapy process. I treat adults and adolescents. I teach within the public school system to educate on the treatment of obesity and body image. I am Board Certified Psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. I received my medical degree from Tufts University in 1997, my medical internship at Harvard Medical School in 1999, and my residency at OHSU in 2002. I run groups and retreats for my patients various industries.
