It has been my privilege as a clinician to work with motivated individuals, families and groups by initially focusing on stabilizing an immediate emotional crisis and following up with coaching in the areas that will support continued growth. These could include depression and anxiety, marriage/family relationship system, challenges in the work setting, substance abuse (including Twelve Step work), grief and trauma. I also offer individual and group supervision for Clinical Social Workers employed in a variety of types of settings who are working towards state licensure. Each individual is viewed broadly within contexts of both their personal and family history and their immediate environment. As a team, we use our "brain power" to devise a strategy to calm the crisis and learn new life skills to bring about a calmer present and a more optimistic future. Completed post-graduate training in Family Systems Theory and Psychotherapy at the Bowen Center for the Family, followed by an internship. Diplomate with the American Psychotherapy Association since 1998. Have served on various state and national boards of the National Association of Social Workers, with a special interest in practice issues and social justice.
