I was trained at East Tennessee State University, Tennessee, and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. I am board certified in Adult, Child/Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. I strive to provide quality and evidence based treatment to the children and their families and follow guidelines set by the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I have interest in treating Mood & Anxiety disorders, Psychotic disorders, ADHD, Autism and evolving personality issues in children and teens through a combination of medication management and therapy. I am trained in Psychodynamic, Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral therapy. I believe in a wholesome/dynamic treatment approach and in actively involving the family in treatment also through parent education and training even as I see children and teens in treatment. I have interest in providing developmental guidance to parents regarding any concerns they may have of their children and adolescents. I have trained in both India and the USA , and this has led to a broad cultural perspective and a healthy respect for the biological aspect of Psychiatry. I strive to serve children, adolescents and their families.
