Many people can benefit by joining in a healing relationship with a counselor to address emotional difficulties and take stock of where they are on life's path. You may come to see me in counseling for a number of reasons. These could include: finding ways to feel happier and more secure in your life; explore the past and how it impacts you now; look at current relationships and how they might grow or change; address addictions and other unhealthy lifestyles; find ways to lesson the impact of traumas on your current life. My work is deeply rooted in relationships. The first step in a successful counseling experience is to create a trusting and dynamic relationship between the therapist and the person(s) seeking support. We then use that foundation to explore the client's relationship with the people, places and institutions in daily life. My work is based in psychodynamic psychotherapy but I also incorporate mindfulness, family systems, EMDR and other approaches as needed.
