I am a child, adolescent, adult and family therapist. I enjoy working with children because they have amazing potential for change. I help families and children with challenging behaviors, and I have trained teachers how to manage these behaviors in the classroom. I use an approach centered on Emotional Regulatory Healing, which is based on the scientifically proven connection among trauma, attachment and mood regulation. My extensive work with children who have experienced trauma and my experience running a child sexual abuse treatment program has prepared me to be a compassionate therapist and advocate for children and families in crisis. Through my experience as a teacher and school counselor, I have gained insight into the challenges that children with ADHD, learning disabilities, behavioral problems, trauma, and other mental health concerns, face in the classroom. I am able to develop effective treatment plans that address concerns at home and at school. I also have worked with Child Protective Services in intake, investigation, and ongoing casework capacities, and I am familiar with the foster care system. I am able to assist clients with parenting skills, and provide effective treatment for parents, children and families. I am also available for evening appointments.
