I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, with a goal of increasing their capacity to live more connected and meaningful lives. Often the ways we have learned to adapt to our world (or world view) are no longer effective or relevant. I seek to help clients create deeper awareness and insight into their motives, defenses, and desires. Together we explore patterns that contribute to struggles and dissonance in day to day life. I have 20 years of experience in the mental health field, including several years working in residential homes for emotionally disturbed youth, and as director of an outpatient family-based program. My work is guided by training in attachment and developmental theories, play therapy, family systems theory, and psychoanalysis.
