At the core of my orientation is Person Centered therapy; the idea of meeting a person where he or she is at that moment, in a manner that is suited to the individual. I endeavor to create an environment free of judgment, with empathy and respect. Focus is placed on a wholistic view of health, with the intent of creating a well-rounded approach to the issues and concerns identified. Aspects of Behavior Therapy (Cognitive, Dialectical), Gestalt techniques, mind/body orientation, grief processes, Jungian theory, art psychotherapy and developmental theories are also integrated into the process. I utilize expressive & creative processes in conjunction with an eclectic theoretical approach to address: complex/compound trauma (PTSD) with adults and children, grief & loss, chronic/life threatening illness, LGBT issues, anxiety, chronic mental health, self-esteem, life transition, personal growth, pervasive developmental issues, depression, and attachment issues. I have specialized training in art psychotherapy, play therapy, medical play therapy, trauma informed care principles, compound trauma, grief and loss, developmental issues, autism & Asperger’s Syndrome, mind/body techniques, shamanic techniques, meditation/visualization
