Sometimes making the first phone call can be intimidating, but I listen without judgment or criticism and ensure a welcoming relaxed attitude that helps to minimize fear and support your goals. I understand that life's problems can sometimes become difficult and often patterns are repeated that hinder your personal growth. In therapy, I help individuals explore the specific behaviors, thoughts, and feelings that may contribute to repeating these patterns and emphasize existing strengths to develop specific workable goals. I believe in including the family system in therapy to improve relationships, as there is truth in varied perspectives and growth comes from understanding each other. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, families, and adults and utilize humor and my professional experiences for creative exploration in therapy. I specialize in trauma; often working with women coping with grief/loss, sexual trauma, anxiety/depression, family stress, and divorce. I also testify as an expert in child sexual abuse. I conduct comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations of children and adolescents to assess for possible learning disabilities, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder and social emotional difficulties. I work with parents to advocate for their child and collaborate with school professionals to implement appropriate intervention strategies.
