As a Licensed Professional Counselor, my job is to help you to weather adversity in your life by providing you with a safe place to discover and embrace your true authentic self which in turn helps to improve your relationship with others as well as with yourself. I can help you achieve this by providing you with honest direct feedback coupled with an unconditional positive regard and encouragement. In therapy I will also help you to understand how your thoughts affect your feelings which in turn affect your behavior. I have extensive experience as an individual therapist working with adults in both public and private settings. I specialize in individual counseling, with experience working on the following issues: depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, sleep disorders, bereavement, LGBT, substance abuse and process addictions. My therapeutic style has been described as casual and relaxed. I tend to utilize various therapeutic modalities as well as infusing my sessions with some humor, compassion, and even a little metaphor thrown in for good measure. Therapy should never feel like you are under a microscope.
