You hope for or may even need positive change but feel understanding, healing and the right coping skills are necessary. This is where I can help. My primary areas of specialty include post traumatic stress, general anxiety, depression and family communication. Secondary areas of specialty include social anxiety, family of origin issues, self esteem, addiction for motivated clients and early to long term recovery/relapse prevention. I've worked individually with over 350 adult clients to address these issues. I've also served over 1,600 adolescent clients and their families through individual, family, multifamily and peer group therapy. I work alongside you, my client, to put stressors and blocks to happiness in a context that encourages insight, healing and hope. Interventions are based on your personal strengths and identified needs. My job is to support you in visualizing, conceptualizing and living the positive changes you seek. My approach uses mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy that is solution focused. I am trained in and offer EMDR. For many clients this technique is incorporated into therapy to further aide in replacing old fear, pain or shame based beliefs with more adaptive, reality based thoughts and feelings.
