For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to work with teenagers. Since obtaining my Masters of Social Work at the University of California, Berkeley in 1987, I have worked with teens in multiple settings. I have discovered that counseling can help teenagers with the most important tasks of adolescence. I work collaboratively with parents towards the primary goal of seeing their teenager launch successfully into adulthood. I am direct and honest and emphasize accountability and personal responsibility. I have found that teenagers appreciate that approach. My area of interest is with adolescents as they negotiate the twists and turns inherent during this difficult period. Anger management, relationships, school problems, divorce, blended family dynamics, high risk behaviors, rational decision making and defiance are just some of the bumps that must be mastered along the way.
