Life is challenging. Seeking therapy during times of increased stress can provide people the time, space, and support they need to be happy and productive again. I believe the role of the therapist is varied. At times people are looking for someone to listen to their unique story and bear witness to their painful details, emotions and reactions. Other times, they seek support for change; confirmation about the path chosen; or new ideas that compliment their efforts for self-understanding. At any point in life, therapy can help people gain the confidence necessary for initiating change. Whether struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues or addictions, therapy can be the first step toward relief. People fully invest in the therapy process when they feel understood, respected, safe, and confident with their therapist. By providing a safe and comfortable environment, I seek to support active, positive change. My goal is to find the right approach to therapy for each individual, drawing from various therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic, and Family Systems therapies.
