I take a comprehensive, whole-family based approach to mental health. It is most important to develop a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients and meet them where they are in the present moment. I will specially tailor treatment plans to include faith values, developmental disabilities and racial identity issues as deemed necessary. Together we will address how to find a way out of your current suffering and help you function more effectively in your life outside my office. I work to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients to regain their voices and begin their healing. I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as Cognitive-Behavior (CBT) strategies that address a myriad of issues. I offer group and individual therapy for adults. I additionally offer special groups and therapy for African-American clients and parents of behavior-disordered children/dependents. All are welcome. I developed a behavior modification program for behavior-disordered dependents (including developmentally-disabled clients)to improve their independence, structure and functioning in their communities. We also have programming to support families who have adopted throughout the developmental lifespan especially if attachment has become problematic.
