Change is fundamental to any therapeutic process. Psychologist, Social Worker, Counselor, whatever we call ourselves, however we work, people come because they want something to change, to shift. Mood, behavior, relationships -with self, with others, contentment, pleasure. Sometimes the suffering is great, other times it nags; it may be vague or immediate, recent or older than you. Experiences are important. What we learn from our experiences, what they mean to us, shapes how we understand ourselves, how we act, what we feel. As individuals we decide what something means, but that decision is influenced by age, family, culture, relationships and of course other experiences.I like to describe what I do by saying that I have conversations with people about their lives, about some of the things I've just mentioned. I've been doing that for nineteen years, in a variety of settings with many unique individuals. My office is at 86 Lake Street, on the Waterfront, in Burlington. I also have office hours on Fridays in Stowe. You can contact me at 802-864-8201, extension 992 or by email at [email protected].
