I work with women and men with a variety of challenges. Many have concerns of trauma or health issues. I often use a cognitive behavioral approach, but I am flexible to meet the needs of the client and therefore I frequently take an eclectic approach; one that best fits with the client. Focus can be concerning depression, anxiety, stress, panic, grief, adaptation to physical ailments, and other issues that challenge one in functioning fully in day to day life. Work can be done individually or in a group setting. My experience has centered around women and men with life experiences that have involved making significant changes in their lifestyle. I work with clients collaboratively to make long lasting changes to improve their quality of life. I also work with family members who are impacted by these changes. I frequently take a psychoeducational approach where one learns new ways to deal with life's challenges. As such, it is a matter of gaining information and learning a new way of dealing with one's challenges. The goal here is, by learning new tools, one can become more independent.
