No one wants to live in a stressful, unhappy home. But this is the result when adults and children don't know how to communicate with each other in a safe, non-combative way. Parents whose children have ADHD, ADD or suffer from anxiety, depression, attachment and separation issues, cutting or obsessive-compulsive disorders say the coping and change strategies they develop through my counseling sessions are enabling them to become, in one mom's words, "more normal" families. My specialized counseling also empowers small children, adolescents and teens who are enduring family stress from divorce, parental job loss, relocation, end of life issues or other crises, including sexual of physical abuse, to share their feelings and begin to heal.
