I offer art therapy as a creative alternative to talk therapy. Sometimes words are not enough and the use of the creative process, art media, and the artistic product are often a powerful approach to understanding and coping with life struggles. I am an experienced mental health practitioner in using art therapy techniques and interventions to assist children, adolescents, and adults in developing mindful health practices through art making to promote stress relief, positive coping, and self awareness. I am nationally board certified and a licensed clinical professional art therapist in the State of Maryland. I specialize in working with children and adolescents experiencing medical illness, grief and loss, adoption/foster care, emotional and behavioral issues, and learning disabilities impacting school performance. I also work with adults experiencing major life transitions, anxiety, trauma, medical illness, or grief and loss. I offer art therapy supervision for individuals and small groups where I bring knowledge, experience, sensitivity, and creativity to support the growth of the art therapy trainee or professional.
