My practice is geared towards adults who are seeking help with emotional trauma, substance abuse (either their own or a family member's), relationship concerns, anxiety, mood difficulties, difficult adjustments or transitions, including those of later life; and/or other emotional struggles. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families and offer a range of services including, consultation, clinical assessment, comprehensive substance abuse evaluation, short term mental health counseling, longer term psychotherapy, family counseling, and couples' therapy. With particular expertise in substance abuse, my treatment approaches include Motivational Counseling, Minnesota Model, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Insight Oriented Therapy, Client Centered Technique, Mindfulness, and EMDR. I am also trained in Gottman Couple's Therapy (Level One). Respectful collaboration is a guiding principle in my work. In 25 years of clinical practice, I have learned a great deal from my clients and have regularly been inspired by them. Personal healing is truly an amazing thing to witness and to be a part of. I work to pass this inspiration forward.
